All of my vodka infusion experiments have finally reached a conclusion, one of many which are to come. Ladies and gentleman, I present the Wonkatini.
Place ice (about 3-5 cubes depending on the size of your ice cubes) in a mixing glass.
Pour over the ice:
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a piece of taffy on a stick (I am using dreamsicle flavor in the picture).
*To infuse gin with vodka, pour ½ cup of vodka into a glass jar. Add ¾ ounces of butter. Seal jar and allow to sit until flavor infuses into the gin to a level of your liking. You may have to strain the butter out of the jar and add more butter to reach your desired flavor.

This thing is a delight! Not only does it taste like candy, but the purple color turned out amazing. I also thought the taffy might be too hard. However, it is soft enough to push a toothpick through. I can even see it slowly melting into the drink. I really think I have outdone myself this time. The only change I would make is to boost the flavor of the butter. That would mean a longer infusing time potentially with occasional refreshing of the butter.
I've only had about ⅓ of the glass, and I am already wobbly-legged. I hope I will still be able to wo to gork in 2 hours. At least this proves the gin did not sacrifice its efficacy in the infusion process. You should see the taffy swirls on the top of the drink. Wait, I have a camera! Thank God for autofocus, or this might have been blurry.
But how would this recipe come out with the cheaper Skol gin? Another round, barkeep!
I am so buzzed after that one ddrin, I'm not sure you hould trust my opinion of the Skil version of the brecipey. Damn, why dose my fon peep ringing. Anywho, taste-wise, the Skol version is not nearly as complex as the Gordon's I am getting very little of the juniper and none of the butter. Tasting the skol invusion itself, it is clear that infusions lose taste after time. Therefore, I am going to stick to my decicion to use Gordon's from now on and to increase the infusion time and/or quantity.
To make sure I get to work sober, I have emptied my Skol glass into the sink. I hate waste.
